FL Real Estate Attorneys Shifting Focus

The average real estate attorney in Florida used to do transactional work. She would primarily assist with the legal issues involved in the buying and selling of homes in Florida. These were the people that you would work with if you were buying Tampa realestate and needed a lawyer to oversee the final closing of the deal.

But that was a few years ago. Real estate attorneys in Florida today are doing very different work than they were back then. They’ve shifted focus away from transactional law and are now diving into the world of foreclosures. You can’t really blame them for the shift because that’s where the money is at for real estate lawyers these days.

Of course, people who are looking at Tampa houses for sale are still going to be able to find a Florida attorney who can assist them in completing the deal. It’s just that a majority of attorneys in the state are making this only a small portion of their business while they focus most of their efforts on helping clients who are dealing with foreclosures. As the market improves and foreclosures become fewer, we’ll see real estate attorney in Florida switch their focus back to transactional deals again.
