Generate Business by Supporting a Cause

One of my colleagues and friends had an interesting approach to generating some new business a year or two ago. She released a press release stating that 10 percent of all her income that month would be donated to a charity of her choice.
The result was astounding. She got tons of business that month — and in fact, months later she was still hearing from potential clients who saw her press release online and were interested in her services.
After the month was over, she had several hundred dollars to donate. The charity she chose was one that worked on raising awareness on drunk driving. When my friend was young, one of her parents was killed by a drunk driver, yet by getting a good Clearwater DUI attorney the driver got off almost scott-free. Although my friend doesn’t blame the Clearwater criminal lawyer — he was, after all, doing a job that he was paid to do — it was always somewhat difficult for her to stomach.
So her promotion was amazingly successful — she enjoyed a huge surge in business, AND she got to donate money to a cause that made her feel better about things! Talk about killing two birds with one stone!
