Surveys for Referrals

With the real estate market basically in shambles, I have really had to struggle to keep my business afloat. You see, I am a real estate broker, and I own my own real estate company. As a Realtor sometimes I have to be the bearer of bad news too. If a past client wants to sell a house, I am the one that has to tell them that it is probably not worth as much right now as they might think it is. In fact, I have been telling all of my past clients to do everything they can to avoid selling their houses!
Of course telling people not to sell has been bad for my business. So I have been trying to get as many buyers as I can. After all, it is a great time to buy real estate. One thing I have turned to is customer satisfaction surveys. I sent all of my past clients a simple customer service survey on a pre stamped postcard that they could return to me. On the postcard I also asked for any referrals that they might have. And it worked pretty well. When I started getting these customer surveys back, I did receive several referrals for buyers.
