Pet-Related Home Businesses Aren’t Just for Kids

When most of us think of dog-walking or pet-sitting businesses, we think of the neighborhood kid’s “business,” similar to babysitting or mowing lawns. But pet-related home businesses aren’t just for kids, silly rabbit! Many successful adult entrepreneurs run pet-related home-based businesses.

Recently a friend of mine was laid off from her job at the neighborhood doggie daycare. She had worked there for the last two years, has done a lot of extra work in dog training, and is knowledgeable about things such as the raw diet. I suggested that she start a pet-related home business such as pet sitting and dog walking.

Of course, such a business means getting out of the house to go to client’s homes, so it may not be ideal for everyone. Another idea for a home-based business that is pet related is selling dog and cat toys online. For instance, you might purchase bulk cat toys and resell them. Or maybe you have a crafty side to you and you would like to make cat toys, dog and cat dishes, dog sweaters, or anything else for pets that you can dream up.

As you can see, there are plenty of pet-related business ideas that allow you to work from home. What other ideas can you think of?
