Crawling to Success
By Digi on Jul 21, 2008 in Business
Anyone who works with website development knows all about things like meta tags or spiders that surf the web. The spiders crawl through the web pages collecting keywords and noting the URL while also assigning values of relative importance. When a customer runs a search using certain words, the search words are compared to the words indexed by the spiders. The major sites like Yahoo and Google are major search engines used by the vast majority of customers. When they search for websites of interest, the job the website developer has done to make a particular site easy for search engines to find is put to the test. Using storefront software can make the developer’s job much easier, because the right support for search engine crawling is built into the program.
